LT. GOV. LANDRIEU AND BOND COMMSSION APPROVE

Funding for School Renovations across Louisiana

BATON ROUGE - Today, the State Bond Commission approved funding for public works projects across the state, including school renovations and improvements in several parishes. Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu, as a member of the commission, also supported a number of economic development and recovery efforts. "Primary and secondary education are pivotal to the future of our state," said Landrieu. "We must invest responsibly in our schools to give Louisiana's citizens the opportunities they deserve."

Approved project funding includes:
School renovations and improvements:
  • Grant Parish ($7,150,000)
  • Ouachita and West Ouachita Parish ($5,000,000)
    Construction and renovations of fire stations:
  • Natchitoches Parish ($14,000,000)
  • Terrebonne Parish ($10,520,000)
    Paving and improving public streets in Caddo Parish ($400,000)
    Purchase and renovation of multifamily residential facilities in the City of New Orleans ($45,000,000)
