LT. GOV. LANDRIEU AND BOND COMMSSION APPROVE INFRASTRUCTURE AND EDUCATION IMPROVEMENTS

Funding for Housing and Transportation Projects across Louisiana

BATON ROUGE - Lieutenant Governor Mitch Landrieu and the State Bond Commission approved funding for transportation, education, infrastructure and housing needs across the state. Lt. Gov. Landrieu, as a member of the commission, signed off on a number of projects, funding recovery and economic development efforts.

"Funding smart projects will move Louisiana along the path to economic health and prosperity," said Landrieu. "We can change Louisiana through responsible investments in education, infrastructure, and health care."

Approved project funding includes:

  • School improvements in Calcasieu Parish ($17,250,000)
  • A 276-unit low-to-moderate income rental housing development in Lake Charles ($11,000,000)
  • Refinancing street and road improvements in East Baton Rouge Parish ($120,000,000)
  • A home-ownership program for low and moderate income families in Rapides Parish ($15,000,000)
  • School renovations and improvements in Jefferson Parish($50,000,000)
