(Baton Rouge, LA) -- On Wednesday, January 9, 2008, Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu will unveil Louisiana's new tourism advertising campaign and discuss the state of Louisiana's tourism industry at the 2008 Louisiana Travel and Tourism Summit. Lt. Governor Landrieu will give the keynote address at 9:00 a.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans. The three-day tourism summit, sponsored by the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association (LTPA), will be held January 8 - 10, 2008.

"In our new ad campaign, we provide visitors an 'insider's' personal insight on what to see and do while in Louisiana," Landrieu said.

Also on Wednesday, Landrieu will announce Louisiana Culinary Trails, a promotion created to showcase Louisiana as a food-lovers' paradise. The program is an outgrowth of a public-private partnership that includes the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, the Louisiana Travel and Promotion Association, Tabasco, the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureaus, and various tourism-related businesses.

"Louisiana is universally recognized as one of the top culinary destinations," Landrieu said. "As we work to grow jobs through tourism, we will explore every opportunity that will promote two of our greatest assets -- our unique culture and cuisine."
