The Atchafalaya Heritage Area has been designated by Congress as a National Heritage Area.
The teacher Guide includes pre-visit activities to introduce primary and secondary colors as well as sorting colors, saturation of colors, and name recognition of primary and secondary colors. Post-activities include mixing primary colors to create secondary colors and painting a color wheel (included) labeled with color names.
The student booklet will be utilized by students to record primary and secondary colors that students will identify while on a treasure hunt for colors in the museum galleries. On the museum visit, students will experiment with a hands on activity that will create secondary colors, and each student will construct a color tambourine.
