||I have resided in this area (approx. 5 blocks from the site) for the last 14 years. The people who are living in this neighborhood NOW (and those in the process of rebuilding) want Holy Cross here. While I agree and recognize that this is the forum for opinions from all, who is better to attest to what this neighborhood needs than the residents of Oak Park, Burbank Gardens, Vista Park, Mirabeau Gardens, Lake Terrace, etc.... Unless you live here, waking up every morning and going to sleep every night in a neighborhood that is a mere shell of what it used to be, can you truly relate.
The current neighbors, former neighbors, the Archdiocese, and Holy Cross are all in agreement. This great educational institution needs to remain in this great City. FEMA, don't stand in the way of progress.
P.S. I'm sure as a mitigation effort, Holy Cross would, w/no question, agree to a display in the new school, commemorating the former Cabrini Church.
