St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, Paris Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana
Comments: It would be great if all the buildings that had historical significance and/or memories for people in New Orleans could be salvaged. However, after a disaster like Katrina, not all can be saved and it is time for the tough decisions to be made as to what is more important; saving a church that had a declining congregation and was in need of major repairs before the storm, or building a state of the art educational facility. This would not only help educate boys in the area but would help bring back a community that is struggling and hopefully bring more businesses back to the City of New Orleans. We are having problems with businesses leaving because not only of the devestation, but because education in the city is way behind other cities. Let's let Holy Cross pave the way for education of the future and hopefully others will follow.
