ST. FRANCES CABRINI CHURCH
Comments: WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE EDUCATIONOF OUR YOUTH? THE HOLY CROSS PRIESTS , BROTHERS AAND LAY TEACHERS HAVE DEMONSTRATED FOR MORE THAN 150 YEARS THEIR DEDICATION TO EDUCATING ITS YOUNG MEN TO BECOME RESPONSIBE CITIZENS OF NEW ORLEANS, LOUISINA AND THE WORLD. THERE IS NO QUESTION THAT HOLY CROSS WOULD BE A MOST VALUABLE ASSET TOTHE GENTILLY COMMUNITY. LET HOLY CROSS LEAD THE WAY TO REVITALIZING OUR GENTILLY NEIGHBORHOODS. WE NEED THEM MORE THAN WE NEED A DETERIORATING CHURCH BUILDING THAT IS NO USE TO ANYONE IN ITS PRESENT CONDITION. THE COST OF REBUILDING AND MAINTAINING ST, FRANCIS CABRINIIS PROHIBITIVE AND THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH PARISHONERS REMAINING TO FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE PARISH AS IT WAS BEFORE HURRICANE KATRINA. THE CHURCH BUILDING IS BEYOND SAVING AND MUST BE DEMOLISHED TO MAKE WAYFOR THE FUTURE AND THAT FUTURE WILL BE TO BRING THE NEW HOLY CROSS HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUS TO THE GENTILLY AREA. I BELIEVE THAT MOTHER (ST FRANCES ) CABRINI WOULD WELCOME THE NEW HOLY CROSS HIGH SCHOOL WITH OPEN ARMS AND GIVE HER BLESSING TO ALL. AND MAYBE, THE HOLY CROSS COMMUNITY WOULD CONSIDER DEDICATING IT'S NEW CHAPEL IN HER NAME. ST. FRANCES XAVIER CABRINI OF THE HOLY CROSS. LET US ALL JOIN TOGETHER IN UNITY AND PRAYER AND HOPE THAT HOLY CROSS HIGH SCHOOL WILL SOON BE IN GENTILLY AT PARIS AND PRENTISS AVENUES.
