5500 Paris Ave
Comments: Many formal meetings and casual discussions led to the decsion of the Gentilly community's support of demolishing the Cabrini church, which is explicitedly evidenced by the number of posts exhibited on this site. FEMA is simply being used at the expense of those most affected, the residents of Oak Park, Holy Cross families, and members of the Cabrini congregation. When you read how many families state they were married at this church, or baptised their children there, etc and THEY ARE IN SUPPORT of tearing the church down. What other question is there?

When a nearby homeowner is willing to accomodate a noisy football stadium in his backyard over a relatively quiet church, and will fight for it, you must recognize the depth of desire we have for this facility and NOT THE LEAKING CHURCH.

Homeowners that financed the building of the church from their own pockets - are fighting to have it torn down.

There really is no question here. Please move forward with the demolition of Cabrini so we can begin our rebirth.
