Comments: THE ONLY PEOPLE INTERESTED IN SAVING THIS BUILDING ARE THE ARCHITECTS SO THEY MAY BLOW THEIR OWN HORN BY GETTING AN OVERABUNDANCE OF BRICKS AND CONCRETE LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES.

WHEN I PICTURE SOMETHING ON THE HISTORIC REGISTRY I SEE THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING ON THE HOLY CROSS CAMPUS, I SEE THE PROPOSED BUILDINGS ON THE NEW HOLY CROSS CAMPUS, I PICTURE INDEPENDENCE HALL IN PHILADELPHIA, BUT IN NO WAY DO I PICTURE THIS BUILDING, NO WAY. WHO ELSE OTHER THAN THIS ARCHITECT CAN POSSIBLY ENVISION THIS? I DON'T BLAME THEM THOUGH, THEY WORKED ON IT, AND THEY THOUGHT IT LOOKED GOOD AT THE TIME BUT IT IS NOTHING SPECIAL NOW. IT IS NOTHING BUT ANOTHER DELAY IN ALLOWING PEOPLE TO GET ON WITH THEIR LIVES AND PUT SOMETHING GOOD IN A PLACE WHERE SOMETHING SO TERRIBLE HAPPENED.

TO BE HONEST ABOUT THIS, I HAVE BEEN A RESIDENT OF THIS CITY MY ENTIRE LIFE AND FREQUENT THIS AREA VISITING CLIENTS AND CONTACTS BUT UNTIL I VIEWED THE SUBMISSION ON THIS WEBSITE I HAD NO IDEA WHAT THIS PLACE LOOKED LIKE. IN A WAY, I AM GLAD, AS AFTER VIEWING IT THINK IT SHOULD NEVER HAD BEEN BUILT OR AT LEAST TORN DOWN WHEN THEY TORE THE OTHER MONSTROSITY THIS ARCHITECTURAL FIRM STUCK THIS HISTORIC CITY WITH, THE RIVERGATE!

THE BUILDING IN QUESTION, ALTHOUGH ONCE USED AS A CHURCH, WILL NEVER BE ON ANYONE'S ITINERARY OF HISTORIC PLACES TO BE VISITED IN THIS GREAT CITY (EXCEPT MAYBE ARCHITECTS). IT IS NOT THE CABILDO OR THE LATTER LIBRARY AND WHAT ONE THINKS OF WHEN A CHURCH IS MENTIONED THAT IS ON THE HISTORIC REGISTRY, THE ST. LOUIS CATHEDRAL. THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS BUILDING SHOULD BE PUT IN THE SAME CLASS AS THE ST. LOUIS CATHEDRAL, NO WAY!
IF THESE ARCHITECTS WANT THIS SO BADLY, TELL THEM THEY CAN HAVE IT, TAKE IT DOWN AND BRING IT HOME WITH THEM!

THIS IS JUST BRICKS AND CONCRETE AND CAN BE EASILY REBUILT A HUNDRED TIMES OVER. THERE IS NO HISTORIC TIMBERS USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION, THERE IS NO HAND CARVED FEATURES CRAFTED BY OLD WORLD ARTISANS. THERE ARE MANY MORE BUILDINGS AND HOMES IN THIS GREAT CITY WITH MUCH MORE HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURAL APPEAL THAT ARE BEING RAZED BY BULLDOZERS OR RAZED BY NEGLECT EVERY DAY. THOSE ARE THE PLACES THAT THERE NEEDS TO BE A FIGHT FOR, NOT THIS HUNK OF CONCRETE!

LET THE GREAT TRADITION OF THIS GREAT SCHOOL FINALLY PROCEED IN THE BUILDING OF THEIR NEW CAMPUS. IT IS HARD ENOUGH THAT THIS GRAND INSTITUTION WILL BE SEPARATED FROM THE MOST INVITING CAMPUS THAT IT HAS OCCUPIED FOR OVER A 125 YEARS. THIS HAS BEEN TURMOIL ENOUGH, LET THE STUDENTS AND FUTURE STUDENTS HAVE A CHANCE TO ESTABLISH A NEW TRADITION WITHOUT THIS MONSTROUS EYESORE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CAMPUS OF THE HOLY CROSS SCHOOL.
TEAR THIS DOWN AND LET THERE BE SOMETHING MORE IMPORTANT BE BUILT HERE. LET THE PEOPLE OF HOLY CROSS BUILD A CAMPUS LIKE WE HAD WHEN WE WENT TO SCHOOL. LET THEM BUILD YOUNG MEN FROM THE BOYS THAT WILL COME HERE FOR NOT ONLY AN EDUCATION BUT ALSO A LIFE EXPERIENCE.
