||The Louisiana Landmarks society wishes to express its recommendations regarding the Section 106 review process of the proposed demolition of St. Frances Cabrini Church.
The Church is widely recognized as a significant exemplar of Modernist style of 20th century architecture, and a significant work of local architects Nathaniel Curtis and Arthur Q. Davis. Its innovative design also incorporates the earliest mandates of Vatican II.
The Society recommends that all reasonable measures be taken to make adaptive reuse of the building as an assembly hall, gymnasium, chapel or other use in order that the structure may be preserved.
