||New Orleans, LA
||I live in this neighborhood - rebuilt my house and moved back. And those asking to save this church are asking me to personally bear a burden that I would never ask of someone else. The archdioscese has made clear that it lacks the funds to properly repair and maintain this building. So by declaring this building historic and, effectively, thwarting the effort to re-develop this property, you are condemning my neighborhood with a large, abandoned, rat filled, mold filled, over grown eye sore of a property.
Never has there been a better example of an arbtrary designation of "historic" designed to do nothing more that impose the view of self-abosorbed hoitey-toits on others and to prevent true re-development of New Orleans.
Please don't let them do this to my neighborhood.
