Comments: For the sake of a community that is barely holding on, please allow Holy Cross to move forward with their plan. I am a nearby resident who is struggling to live in the area. I have watched the excructiatingly slow progress of the area since landing in a FEMA trailer one year ago. I have not spoken to one person from the neighborhood who objects to Holy Cross' plan. Yes, most are sad that the church as we knew it will be gone, but we would be even sadder to see a neglected building remain-one that could not be maintained before Katrina. The demographics of the neighborhood cannot support the type of church that Cabrini was intended to be in the 60's. Most parishioners understand this and are willing to sacrifice the church for viable development. In an ideal world, noone would have to make sacrifices, but Katrina changed that for everyone!
